PERENNIAL MEMBERSHIP OFFER

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for taking the opportunity to peruse the Perennial category of the Club's membership.

At present the Palmerston North Golf Club Incorporated has 8 perennial members. The Club can have up to 20 perennial members at any one time. The Board wishes to make available the remaining 12 memberships.

WHAT IS A PERENNIAL MEMBERSHIP?

How does the Perennial Membership category work?

The member pays a one off subscription, as set by the Board. This subscription gives the player full playing membership for their lifetime.

How old does the member have to be?

The Perennial Membership is only available to members from the age of fifty five (55) years and over.

What happens if the Perennial Member becomes ill, transfers from the district or resigns voluntarily?

The member writes to the Club and requests an early withdrawal from the Perennial Membership category. The amount to be refunded will be the perennial subscription less the full playing subscriptions which would have been paid from the date of payment of the perennial membership until the date of resignation. At the discretion of the Board, repayment can be delayed for up to 3 months from the date of receipt of the resignation notice.

What happens if the Perennial Member dies?

The Executor and/or Administrator for the Perennial Member request a refund of the balance of unused subscription. The amount to be refunded will be the perennial subscription less the full playing subscriptions which would have been paid from the date of payment of the perennial membership until the date of death of the member. At the discretion of the Board, repayment can be delayed for up to 3 months from the date of death of the member.

What happens if more than 20 members apply to become Perennial Members?

The first twenty (20) applications received will be offered a Perennial Membership at the appropriate rate and payment for the membership will be due on the 20^th of the month of the application. The remaining applicants will be wait listed in the order they are received by the General Manager or the Board. Remember the Club currently has eight (8) perennial members therefore there are only twelve (12) perennial memberships available.

AFFILIATION FEES

The Board has agreed that Perennial Members will pay the annual affiliation levy due, to the New Zealand Golf Association and Manawatu Wanganui Golf Association Inc. An account for the affiliation fees will be sent to all Perennial members at the start of the year. The affiliation fees are passed on directly to the above Associations and the Palmerston North Golf Club has no bearing on the amount of such levies set each year.

PERENNIAL SUBSCRIPTIONS (INCL GST)

Age 55 and over $6000.00

INFORMATION AS PER THE CONSTITUTION

a) Perennial Members shall be Class 1 Members (Full Adult Members) of such numbers as the Board shall from time to time determine provided that in no case shall Perennial members exceed twenty (20) in number unless otherwise determined by the Club in General Meeting.
b) Perennial Members shall be over the age of fifty five (55) years and shall pay one subscription (the Perennial subscription) as set by the Board which shall entitle the Perennial Member to life time membership without payment of any further subscriptions.
c) If at any time a Perennial Member shall die or gives notice in writing to the General Manager of resignation from the Club the Board shall on receipt of notice in writing from such Perennial Member or from the executors or administrators of such Perennial Member, make a refund of that portion of the Perennial subscription that would have been payable by the Perennial Member from the date of payment of the Perennial subscription to the date of such resignation. In the case of any part of the year such refund shall be to the extent for that year of one twelfth for each month from the first day of March in the financial year of such resignation to the date of such resignation PROVIDED the Board may at its discretion delay repayment of such balance Perennial subscription for a period of three months from the date of such resignation.
