New Roof       Great news the roof on the club house has finally been replaced and is looking fantastic. I am so happy to have finally achieved the goal I set 2 years ago to replace a very leaky and aging roof. Thanks must go to the NZ Community Trust for the funding, Roofing Industries for the supply, Wright Roofing for the installation, Rick Hutton and Lance Beaman for the carpentry and to the volunteers who assisted me with the cleanup of the materials especially Ron Bentley and John MacNamara who gave their time.

So what is next on the to do list

  • 1. Repaint the block work down stairs by Pro Shop, under and around veranda area.
  • 2. Paint and modernise the club rooms and men's locker room.
  • 3. Finish the upgrade to the bar area to make the bar more user friendly.
  • 4. To erect a pergola out behind the 12th tee block to allow us to serve drinks and BBQ on the course.
  • 5. Clear the fence along the first fairway.

Most of this work is intended to be done with a working bee over the next couple of month's time and days to be advised.

Support for the club

Members can support the club in many ways, some ideas for you to consider:

  • To visit the lounge bar and the catering facilities after your round of golf.
  • To introduce a new member to the club this is a key area that members can so easily do and you will be rewarded for your efforts.
  • Assisting with working bees.
  • Helping out on the golf committee or if we have any members out there with some time on their hands and you like to organise and promote functions, fundraisers, or any general ideas to promote activities at the club please feel free to come and see me.
  • A group of volunteers meet each Monday to do various activities on the course such as clearing trees assisting with general course work. If you wish to help this group please see Geoff Beaumont and he will let you know what is involved.
